Transfer of Credits

The College considers transfer credits from regionally and nationally accredited institutions. The College does not guarantee transferability of credits from any other institution. Any decision on the transferability of credits, and whether the credits meet the College’s criteria, is solely at the discretion of International College of Health Sciences.

Applicants requesting transfer credit consideration from previous courses taken outside of International College of Health Sciences must complete a Transfer of Credit Form. Foreign transcripts must be translated and evaluated by a NACES or AICE approved credentialing evaluation agency. Official transcripts must be received from the awarding institution by the end of the first term or transfer credit may not be awarded. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the awarding institution to International College of Health Sciences. For further information on transfer of credits, please see the Transfer of Credit Policy.

The College will consider credits for transfer by examination. The applicant must have a thorough understanding of the subject matter of a specific course by passing a course final. The student will receive a grade of “Earned Credit” (EC). An “Earned Credit” is factored into the calculation of how many credits a student has completed for determining the Maximum Time Frame (MTF) threshold.

Also, the College will consider credits for transfer by examination for students that hold a minimum of an associate degree from an accredited institution. Foreign degrees provided for consideration must be translated and evaluated by an approved agency recognized by the US Department of Education.

CLEP Transfer of Credits by Examination

The College Level Examination Program® (CLEP) is a cost-effective and convenient method for applicants and students to demonstrate competency in select course work. Applicants can have credits applied to their graduation requirements from CLEP. Applicants must present a CLEP certified document granting the CLEP credits and certifying CLEP exam results. All documentation must be sent directly to the Registrar at International College of Health Sciences. For more information, visit: http://clep.collegeboard.org. Currently enrolled students may request the consideration of CLEP for courses within the degree plan through the Office of Academic Affairs. Each request will be evaluated on an individual basis. Students should speak with the Offices of Financial Services prior to requesting consideration. Students may be responsible for transfer of credit fees and/or course tuition, fees and services charges.

Transfer of Credit Affecting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

An accepted transfer credit is factored into the calculation of how many credits a student has completed for determining the maximum time frame threshold.

Transfer of Credits Within the College

Students who change majors, credits and grades that do not count toward the new major will not be included in the Satisfactory Academic Progress determination.

Credit for Previous Training and Education at International College of Health Sciences

Veteran’s Credit for Previous Education or Training

United States veterans may receive credit for previous education or training. Veterans desiring the receipt of credit must report all previous post-secondary education and training. The College will maintain a written record that clearly indicates that official transcripts have been obtained from all post-secondary institutions which the applicant has attended, that those transcripts have been reviewed and evaluated, that appropriate credit has been granted toward the applicant’s current program, with training time shortened and tuition reduced proportionately, and that the veteran has been notified of the status of his credits.

Students must report all education and training. The College must evaluate and grant credit, if appropriate, with the training time shortened, the tuition reduced proportionately, and the Veterans Administration and student notified.
